Why Volunteer?

Volunteerism is the cornerstone of a healthy, caring community. By giving your time and energy to help the unwanted animals of Iosco County, you free up staff and other scarce resources so we may better serve the citizens of our county.

Volunteering takes on many shapes and forms; from daily or weekly commitments to help clean the shelter and care for the animals, to office work, supporting events, or joining a committee – such as the Fundraising Committee.

Our limited budget means we need volunteers to do the work paid staff would do in larger organizations. And by working with staff and other volunteers, you gain a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in knowing you’re part of a team helping our dogs and cats find new homes.

Volunteers are the heart of our organization: please join us in advancing our mission.
